It's been a busy week—too busy for my usual post on my trip. I felt like a bad teacher on Tuesday. I gave my students a tough quiz over a reading that was a) super complex, and b) looked at the way the American education system has reduced reading to "fact finding" instead of asking students to engage emotionally with a text. As a result, the article says, students no longer enjoy reading: They see it as a school-related task and nothing more.
The irony was not lost on me.
Anyway, when I'm stressed and overwhelmed, I find peace in being outside. I've been on a few evening bike rides recently. I hope you'll enjoy these sunset images from my rides.

Love the sunlight and reflections on the water.
I hope you have a great rest of your week! Stay tuned for Saturday's installment about the Basilica Cisterns. :)
I hope the coming week is less stressful and more joy-filled and peaceful for you Jessica. I don't have a bicycle, so when I feel stressed, I go for a walk.
