About Me
Jessica Cyphers ("Jess" or "Miss Jess" to her students) is an adjunct professor of English at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Previously, Jess has worked as a technical, copy, and freelance writer, as well as taught English in Taiwan and Hong Kong. When she's not grading papers or standing in front of a classroom, Jess can usually be found at the gym, riding her road bike, reading, or hanging out with the people she loves.​

At the University of Tennessee, in Knoxville, I focused on rhetoric, teaching English as a second language, and creative writing. After graduating, I became an adjunct teacher at U.T. for both freshmen composition and business writing classes.
At Southern, I focused on English and Journalism. This degree prepared me for jobs in multiple areas, including copy writing, freelance journalism, editing, teaching English abroad, tutoring, and technical writing.
